Ranksy: the affiliate program next to your revenue data

Ranksy is Shopify app analytics with an affiliate program built in. Every Starter and Studio team has it, trials included. Each affiliate gets a referral link for each app in your program. When a link is clicked in the 7 days before an install, Ranksy credits that install to the affiliate, then reads every charge the merchant makes from the Partner API and turns it into commission under your rules.

The rules cover the usual cases: a percentage of each charge for the customer's lifetime or for a set number of months from the first payment, gross or net revenue, which charge types count (subscription, usage, one-time), an optional bonus on the first payment or a fixed amount per install, a minimum plan value, and up to five tiers for affiliates who send more. Affiliates get their own portal to copy links, follow each referred store from install to paid plan, and request payouts.

Ranksy never holds or sends money. You pay affiliates by PayPal or bank transfer, then mark the payout paid in Ranksy and the affiliate gets an email. Coming from another tool, you can import affiliates, referrals and opening balances from CSV, and set the date each imported referral starts earning, so payments already settled elsewhere don't pay twice.

Pick it if you want referrals, commissions and payouts in the same place as your MRR, churn, App Store rankings and revenue by keyword, or you run several apps and don't want a cap on affiliate earnings. Skip it if you want a marketplace that brings you new affiliates, or a tool that sends the payments for you: Ranksy does neither.

PartnerJam: Partner API tracking from an app studio

PartnerJam is built by Digismoothie, which runs its own Shopify apps and agency. It connects read-only to your Partner account, sees installs, uninstalls and charges across every app in the organization, and attributes installs with tracking that doesn't depend on cookies. Starter is $49.99 a month with unlimited apps; Growth, at $99.99, adds a listing in PartnerJam's marketplace and more analytics. There is a 30-day trial.

Pick it if you have many apps and want flat pricing with a marketplace option. Skip it if you need detailed commission terms before you sign up, since its homepage doesn't describe them.

Tolt: payouts and tax forms handled

Tolt connects to your Partner account through a Partner API client with financial and app permissions, and adds a small script to your site to record affiliate visits. It pays commission on subscription, usage and one-time charges, adjusts it for refunds and downgrades, and stops it when a store uninstalls. Its main difference is payouts: it can pay affiliates automatically by PayPal, Wise, local bank or wire, and it collects tax forms and files 1099s. Its example invoice shows a 2% processing fee on payouts. It takes 0% of your revenue and offers a 14-day trial.

Pick it if you don't want to send payments or handle affiliate tax forms yourself. Skip it if you want lifetime commissions, which its Shopify page doesn't mention.

LinkJolt: an API-first option

LinkJolt tracks Shopify app billing through its API rather than a Partner API connection. Your app posts a conversion when a subscription changes, and recurring conversions link back to the first one. LinkJolt's own guide puts this at about 30 lines of code per app. Plans start at $99 a month with 0% transaction fees.

Pick it if you want full control over what counts as a conversion and are happy to write the code. Skip it if you'd rather connect the Partner API and let the tool read charges itself.

Orbit by Elevate: free with Marmeto's suite

Orbit is the affiliate module inside Elevate, Marmeto's suite for Shopify app developers, launched in September 2026. It reads the Partner API and includes a partner portal, lead forms and payout automation. It is free with Elevate and has no affiliate marketplace.

Pick it if you already use Elevate. Skip it if you want a standalone affiliate tool.

PartnerDock: help moving off Mantle

PartnerDock offers a concierge move from Mantle, charges a flat fee that isn't published, and takes 0% of payouts. Installs are reported through a snippet and reviewed by hand, and payouts are a CSV export you pay through PayPal. Its published material, as of October 18, 2026, doesn't say it reads the Partner API.

Pick it if you want someone to move your Mantle program for you. Skip it if you want commissions worked out from Partner API charges automatically.

Affilitrak: built for merchants, not app developers

Affilitrak shows up in AI answers about affiliate tools for Shopify apps, but its website and App Store listing describe an affiliate app for Shopify stores. It tracks storefront sales through referral links and coupon codes, and neither page mentions the Partner API or app subscription charges. It is free, and takes 20% of commissions paid to affiliates who found you through its marketplace.

Pick it if you sell physical products from a Shopify store. Skip it if you need commission on your app's subscription revenue.

Where Shoffi is still the better fit

Shoffi is the strongest choice for a single app with a small program. Its free plan covers one app up to $100 of affiliate earnings every 30 days, Shoffi Market puts your program in front of affiliates who are already looking for apps to promote, and you can pay affiliates' PayPal accounts with a card from inside Shoffi. If you want affiliates to find you, and you have no use for analytics in the same tool, stay.

How to choose

  1. Check how the tool sees revenue. For a Shopify app, commission should come from Partner API charges. Shoffi, PartnerJam, Tolt, Orbit and Ranksy read them. LinkJolt needs your app to report them. Affilitrak and general SaaS affiliate tools track storefront or Stripe sales.
  2. Decide how long affiliates earn. Of 30 Shopify app affiliate programs that publish how long they pay, Ranksy's October 2026 review found 60% pay for the customer's lifetime and 40% for a fixed term, most often 12 months. Make sure the tool supports the one you want.
  3. Decide who sends the money. Tolt pays affiliates for you. Shoffi lets you pay their PayPal by card. Ranksy, PartnerDock and others record the payout and leave the payment to you.
  4. Check where the price goes as you grow. Shoffi's plans step up with affiliate earnings and app count. PartnerJam is flat with unlimited apps. Ranksy charges by app count only, and the affiliate program comes with the analytics.
